Ozark Area position is currently open on the Christian County Library Board.  Even though only one appointment will be made to serve out the remainder of this term through June 2027, it is valuable to have many interested citizens participating and applying to ensure the Commissioners know that these positions matter and our community is willing to step up and serve 💪

Commissioners will meet with each qualifying candidate the week of January 5th – January 9th, 2026. Commissioners will vote on the candidates January 15, 2026, during their regular meeting.

Here is a list of some of LOCAL positions that will be on the April 2026 ballot;

City & Village Offices (Christian County)

Based on current notices, the following municipal seats are scheduled for the April 7, 2026, General Municipal Election:

City of Ozark

• Alderman, Ward 1 – 2-year term

• Alderman, Ward 2 – 2-year term

• Alderman, Ward 3 – 2-year term

City of Nixa

• Mayor

• City Council seats (at least one district seat; exact breakdown is in the full legal notice)

City of Clever

• Mayor – 2-year term

• West Ward Alderman – 2-year term

• East Ward Alderman – 2-year term

City of Fremont Hills

• Mayor – 2-year term

• Alderperson, Ward 1 – 2-year term

• Alderperson, Ward 2 – 2-year term

• Alderperson, Ward 3 – 2-year term

City of Sparta

• Ward I Alderman – 2-year term

• Ward II Alderman – 2-year term

City of Billings

• Aldermen seats on the Board of Aldermen (exact configuration is in their notice)

Village of Saddlebrooke

• 2 Board of Trustees – 2-year terms

There may be a few additional small municipalities, but these are the ones clearly listed in the current notices I can access.

The April 7, 2026, ballot will also include multiple school board races:

• Ozark R-VI School District – School board members

• Nixa Public Schools (R-II) – School board members

• Sparta School District – 3 Board Members, 3-year terms

• Billings R-IV School District – 3 Board Members, 3-year terms

• Fordland R-III School District (partially in Christian County) – 3 Board Members, 3-year terms

• Spokane R-VII School District (Spokane/Highlandville) – 3 Board Members, 3-year terms

Other districts that overlap Christian County may also have seats up; not every district has published its notices yet.

Candidate filing for the April 7, 2026, election runs in December 2025, and the final, certified list will come from the Christian County Clerk in early 2026 with the official Notice of Election and sample ballots by precinct.
